In the ongoing quest to beat childhood cancer, THON had another record breaking year, raising $13,343,517.33. Congratulations to all that helped and/or contributed to this worthwhile cause.
Also, Congratulations to the Penn State York Men’s Basketball Team on capturing the PSUAC Crown, for the second year in a row, beating Mont Alto, 72 – 63. The team now heads to Penn State Fayette to play in the U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Championship. York, ranked No. 2 in the Men’s Division II Championship, plays at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 6. The game will be live-streamed in the Community Room of the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center at Penn State York.

Coffee & Conversations in Art: Education, Careers and Beyond (FREE)
Art Show and Discussions with Fred Haag, Associate Professor of Visual Arts
Fred Haag will present examples of his painting, discuss his creative process, and share his thoughts about art in higher education and as a career. There will be plenty of time for networking and questions. Haag is currently an Associate Professor of Visual Arts at Penn State York. He earned a BFA from University of the Arts in 1984 and an MFA from Penn State in 1986. Recent exhibits include a one-person exhibit at YorkArts, a three-person show at Studio Gallery 234 in York, and the 85th International Juried Exhibition at the Art Association of Harrisburg. Haag’s artwork will be on display and refreshments will be provided. This free event is being held in conjunction with Penn State York’s Career Week activities and is being sponsored by the Penn State York Alumni Society. This event is free and open to Penn State students and alumni. No registration required.

Dr. Bonnie Kerrigan Snyder is the author of The New College Reality: Make College Work for Your Career and The Unemployed College Graduate’s Survival Guide. A graduate of Harvard, VA Tech and Penn State, Dr. Snyder is a Global Career Development Facilitator with the National Career Development Association. She has worked as a college career counselor, high school guidance counselor, and college professor. Her work has been mentioned in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and the Huffington Post.
This event is free and open to Penn State students and alumni. No registration required.
