Light the Night Walk at Cousler Park!
Please consider a donation – click HERE for information!
Well…it looks like Northwestern found some holes in our offensive line during our Homecoming football game… we’re confident the Lions will regroup, make some adjustments and be ready to take on Michigan on October 11th.
Just to keep you updated on our fundraising efforts for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and York’s ‘Light the Night’ walk, our book signing event with Jay Paterno, raised over $500, with a total of $937 to date. We have 3 1/2 weeks to raise another $63, to reach our goal of $1,000. We will do it!! I want to thank Iona Conlon, for arranging the book signing fundraiser, as well as thanking everyone else who helped us with this cause. We also put a Penn State themed basket together for a silent auction at the spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Saturday night. To keep track of where we are at with our goal, go to: http://pages.lightthenight.org/cpa/YorkPA14/PSUAlumni
If you missed getting an autographed book at the Jay Paterno book signing event, here’s your chance to win one! Just make a donation to the LLS, sponsoring our team, and you will be entered in a drawing (held the day after the walk). Donations of $20 and over will receive two chances and if you walk with us, you will receive an additional entry!
Our Santa for Soldiers Fundraiser, with our Veteran Alumni and Veteran Students, is just getting started. Stay tuned for more details.
This month’s Social / Mixer is at Quaker Steak & Lube (1411 Kenneth Road, York, Pa 17404), at 6:00 PM, on Wednesday, October 8th. . We thought we would try someplace new this month, for those that wanted to venture out and see what it is like. So, come out and join us! I hope to see you there.
For the Glory,
Courtesy Announcement from PSU York Campus Alumni Office:
We have been offered 10 seats on the bus that Student Affairs rented for the PSU vs Maryland game on November 1st. There’s a group of students going up for All-U Day festivities and the game…
This offer is for seats-only, ride up and back… NO TICKETS are included. The cost will be $30 per seat. Cash or check payable to Penn State York (delivered to the Penn State York Alumni Office during business hours or by mail). Once we hit the limit of 10, (if you want) we can put you on a wait-list in case more seats open up.
This bus will have students on board, so please, no alcohol in the bus.
This is not a Society event. You will need to provide the following information:
Cell phone #
and emergency contact information (name/phone number of someone who is not on the bus with you!)
As it gets closer to the game day, we hope to have more information.
Let Iona Conlon (firstname.lastname@example.org or 717-718-6781) know if you are interested!
LLS LIGHT THE NIGHT WALK
About the Walk
This year, the PSYAS community involvement project is with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and York’s ‘Light the Night Walk’. The walk will be held at Cousler Park (1060 Church Road, York, Pa 17404) http://www.mantwp.com/pr_cousler.asp on October 25, 2014. The walk is about 1.5 miles, but there are plenty of shortcuts back to home base if you get tired. The walk takes about 1/2 hour, and is all on level ground (no hills).
Even if you are not walking you can donate by clicking on ‘Donate to Team’, even if it is $1.00.
Click on ‘Join’ and don’t forget to say under TEAM: Penn State Alumni
BONUS! Sign up to walk with our team and receive a PAY IT FORWARD t-shirt, PSU sling bag and travel mug!!!
SHARE: Invite friends and family to participate with you.
Additional LLS Fundraisers Prior to the Walk on October 25
